Bio:Green Day's breakthrough was in 2001 when their album Dookie hit stores but Green Day has been a band since the 1989. Their self-titled album was released in 1994 but it was the success of the band's album Kerplunk that got them a record deal with the label Reprise. Their next album, Dookie would sell internationally well and won a Grammy in 1994 for Best Alternative Music Performance. After Dookie, Insomniac was released in 1995 which was followed by Nimrod in 1997, Warning in 2000, American Idiot in 2004, and Bullet in the Bible in July of 2005. Green Day has even had a broadway musical titled American Idiot. The band is currently working on a new album.
